STRETCH OF VICTORIES AND PODIUMS FOR CRG IN FRANCE IN VAL D’ARGENTON IN THE SECOND ROUND OF THE WSK EURO SERIES

SUCCESSES FOR JORRIT PEX IN KZ1 AND FELICE TIENE IN KF2. JORDON LENNOX LAMB IS THE RUNNER-UP IN KZ2. ALEX PALOU (THIRD) MAKES HIS LEADERSHIP STEADIER.

Le Breuil sous Argenton (France). In France too, in Val d’Argenton for the second round of the WSK Euro Series, the sun finally came out after Saturday rain. And, together with the sun, it was CRG which made its colours shine thanks to an exceptional performance in all the categories.

After the third place achieved on Saturday by Jordon Lennox-Lamb in KZ2, the podium on Sunday belonged to CRG more than ever, thanks to an endless series of stunning results: victory for Jorrit Pex in KZ1, victory for Felice Tiene in KF2, Jordon Lennox-Lamb runner-up in KZ2, third place for Alex Palou in KF3. Particularly important Palou’s result: thanks to his performance he is now steadily at the top of the category championship ranking.

IN KZ1 PEX IS IRRESISTIBLE. In KZ1 the young Dutch Jorrit Pex of CRG Holland was simply unstoppable, keeping the leadership of the Final from the start to the finishing line, without any threat from his rivals. Pex, second in the first heat in the morning and then winner of the second one, started from the pole position in the Final, showing an unmatchable pace for all the other drivers. Also JonathanThonon could have achieved a good result in this Final-2, but he was stopped by the breaking of the water pump belt while chasing Pex. Fabian Federer, after a brilliant start, had to be content with a seventh place. David_claneke Forè placed ninth, but his was an excellent race: he recovered after being pushed off track at the first bend of the first heat.

IN KZ2 LENNOX IS THE RUNNER-UP. In KZ2, after the third place in Final-1, Jordon Lennox Lamb in the second final on Sunday had to be content with the second place at the end of a race spent sticking close to Torsellini. The English driver, on a CRG-Maxter directly prepared by the factory, did_clanek not seize theoccasion to overtake him, despite having tried many times to get the lead of the race. Anyway, the second position launches Lennox to the third position of the general ranking with good expectations for the championship. The Canadian Phillip Orcic, this time, finished a bit behind and placed 12th.

TIENE SUPERSTAR IN KF2. In KF2 Felice Tiene, on CRG-Bmb, achieves an outstanding performance. The Italian driver ran a perfect race, helped by a performing chassis and by an excellent and competitive engine in all the sectors of the track in Val d’Argenton. After a hard start because of the harsh weather conditions, Tiene achieved a winning progression from the 15th position in the heats to the good fourth place of the Pre-final and, finally, to the excellent first position of the Final. To be mentioned Tom Joyner’s performance on LH. He went off the track at the start of the Pre-final but, then, he achieved a thrilling recovery in the Final from the 32nd place. Unfortunately, during the last lap, one of Joyner’s rivals pinched the last step of the podium and, eventually, the English driver finished with a good fifth place. On the other hand, some accid_clanekents in the heats prevented Luke Varley from qualifying for the final.

IN KF3 PALOU MAKES HIS LEADERSHIP STEADIER. Alex Palou, the young Spanish driver on CRG-Bmb, managed to conquer an excellent third place in the Final, making his leadership in the category steadier. After the second place in the Pre-final, Palou in the Final drove carefully and, anyway, he managed to get onto the podium behind Lorandi and Kodric after occupying the second position for a long time. Less lucky the other CRG drivers, with the Brazilian Vitor Baptista and the Canadian Zachary Claman De Melo excluded from the Final because of an accid_clanekent during the Pre-final. The Russian Georgy Antonov of the AB Motorsport team had better luck and placed 18th in the Final after being involved in the tussle of the first laps.

Next appointment with the WSK Euro Series on 24th June in Italy, in Muro Leccese.

THE INTERVIEWS

Euan Jeffery, CRG team manager: “It was a very demanding weekend, above all for the weather conditions which changed very frequently until Sunday. Anyway, in the final racing day of this second round of the WSK Euro Series, we managed to gather excellent results in all the categories. In KF3, Palou did_clanek a very good race and, thanks to his third place, he brought home points which are good stuff for the championship. De Melo and Baptista had bad luck when they went off the track in the Pre-final, but anyway they have improved a lot. Antonov achieved good results in the heats, but in the Final he was slowed down by the tussle. In KF2 we got a good result thanks to Tiene, who drove wisely. We are going to Japan, now, and we have the potentiality to do well also in the KF1 world championship. It’s a pity for Varley, who was rather unlucky and got involved in sevefral accid_clanekents in the heats. In KF2 Joyner’s performance on LH was really good: he recovered well from the back rows of the starting grid_clanek.Lennox conquered a good second place after struggling for the victory until the last lap. Pex’s race in KZ1 was simply awesome, while Thonon got some troubles with the water temperature, otherwise he would have done much better. In KZ1 also Federer was competitive throughout the whole weekend, always in the top positions, but in the final he had to be content with the seventh place. Forè was penalized by an accid_clanekent in the heats during the morning but, even if he started from the back positions, he achieved a good result."

Jorrit Pex (KZ1): “So far it’s been a great season for me. I started from the pole position in the Final and I had an excellent start, gaining immediately the leadership of the race. At that point I simply tried to drive wisely, administering the lead over my rivals. This is my second win this year, and I’m really happy. I’d like to say thank you to the CRG team for all the support they are giving me."

Felice Tiene (KF2): “In the time trials we were fast, but then on the dry track which got wet fast we did_clanekn’t manage to guess the right set-up in the qualifying session. I alwaysstarted from the ninth position in the heats, and it wasn’t heasy to gain positions. Anyway, I did_clanekn’t want to risk too much and I placed 15th for thestart in the Pre-final. But I was confid_clanekent I could do well, and in the Pre-final I recovered as far as the fourth place and, in the Final, I got the lead soon. I’ve never had doubts on CRG’s potential. We are a winning team and we are showing it."
