IN THE LAST RACE OF THE WSK MASTER, MARANELLO KART CONFIRMS TO BE A TOP TEAM THANKS TO CUCCO IN KF2 AND GHid_clanekELLA IN KZ2

STEFANO CUCCO IN KF2, ON A RS9 CHASSIS, FINISHED HIS CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE 8th PLACE.MATTEO GHid_clanekELLA IN KZ2, ON A RS7 CHASSIS, FOUGHT FOR THE PODIUM TILL THE END

Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia - Italy). Maranello Kart got a good result in the finalrace of the WSK Master Series in Castelletto di Branduzzo with Stefano Cucco in KF2 and Matteo Ghid_clanekella in KZ2. The Italian Team took part in this third and last race of the championship together with all the major constructors and almost 200 drivers in the five categories of the event.

In KF2 Cucco, on a RS9 chassis and powered by Bmb, got the satisfaction of fighting against the top position drivers, recording very good times, while in KZ2 Ghid_clanekella, on a RS7 chassis and powered by an official Maxter engine, in the final went close to the podiumthanks to an exalting performance in the last laps - he even managed to record the second overall best time behind the CRG driver Lennox.

In KF2 Cucco, after showing his competitiveness in the time trials, in the heats achieved an excellent third place, but then in the other qualifying races he suffered the tussle even though he recovered a bit in the final . He eventually placed 9th in the final, which meant the 8th place in the general ranking for him..

In KZ2 the surprise of the weekend was Ghid_clanekella’s performance, at his first participation in the WSK Master Series and immediately among the overall fastest drivers since the time trials, where he managed to achieve the fifth time on his Maranello-Maxter, only two tenths of second behind the leader. In final 1 Ghid_clanekella placed fifth again after a recovery from the 17th position and, in final 2, his outstanding performance allowed him to grab the fourthplace after a hard fight against the first for the podium. Anyway, the second best lap ime was his, and he finally placed tenth in the ranking of the championship.

"We finally managed to get good performances - commented Cucco after his 9th final place - with good times which were at the level of the first drivers. In the free practice on the day before the race we got remarkable results, but with the hot weather things got more complicated. We had some troubles with the set-up on a rubbered in track. We had too much grip on the rear: we had to adjust the chassis and eventually we got good results. It was a rather tough weekend, but the team worked well. Now we are about to take part in the Euro Series. The first round is on the 15th April in Sarno. Last year I won the title and this year I aim at repeating my performance of 2011."

Ghid_clanekella was particularly satisfied and commented his performance with these words: "It was a thrilling race and I’m satisfied with my fourth place. In the last laps of the final I got really close to Lennox, I was in his slipstream, but I did_clanekn’t take the risk of an overtaking because I did_clanekn’t want to ruin both our results. My commitment in this season is entirely focused on the WSK Euro Series, the European and World championships, where I can count on the Maxter engines directly prepared by the factory, like on this occasion. After the Winter Cup we decid_claneked to take part in this last round of the Master Series in order to get ready for the forthcoming international events. I do expect to get my kicks from this appointments. The RS7 chassis is excellent, especially because it works very well with the tyres, and the Maxter engine is really performing."
