ART Grand Prix celebrates a successful 2012 season
It's only been one year since ART Grand Prix made its first steps in karting competition. Joining an extremely professional environment and companies with tens of years of experience including some sensational rolls of honor, ART Grand Prix faced a tough challenge, but at the end of its first season our company didn't disappoint, drawing a very satisfactory overall balance.
From the sports perspective, the most remarkable accomplishments were the 1-2 finish in the European CIK-FIA Championship KF2 class with Ben Barnicoat and Charles Leclerc, the win scored by Leclerc in the WSK Euro Series, the Frenchman's runner-up position in the World CIK-FIA Under-18 Championship and the third place recorded by Ben Hanley in the KZ1 World Championship.
The 2012 roll of honor of ART Grand Prix also features a number of wins and titles achieved at national level by our official teams, which worked flawlessly.
ART Grand Prix Finland (with Nylund, Laaksonen and Haapalainen), ART Grand Prix New Zealand, ART Grand Prix France (on top in the Minimes/Cadet class), Art Grand Prix Belgium (fielding Amaury Bonduel) and ART Grand Prix Japan have been the first teams in history to bring the ART Grand Prix banner on top as they all won their respective national championships.
In Brazil, ART Grand Prix ended up on top thanks to Sérgio Sette Camara, while Barnicoat won the British KF2 championship and the excellent results of Ricky Collard and Sam Webster capped a great season in the UK. ART Grand Prix have also been very pleased to follow the growth of the team's youngest drivers, which is one of the pillars of kart racing. Two of them deserve to be mentioned, Sette Camara and Chinese racer Yifan Xia, from Shanghai.
None of these achievements would have been possible without our sponsors. We want to thank Aethra, Bayer, OMR and Richard Mille as well as all the partners on the technical (Machac Racing, IAME, TM Racing, Starlane, New Line, KG, Xeramic), training (Formula Medicine) and commercial (Freem, Lucky Design) side of things. They provided some very high-quality services. A big thank you also goes to the customers that relied in our products - their trust went beyond any early expectation.
The Karting division of ART Grand Prix is already focused on the next challenge which is the continuation of this success story. The 2013 season will be tough and demanding, but at the end of our maiden year we know we will be starting on a very good base to reach the goals we set.
